Position Title: UX Designer 2

Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a UX Designer 2 with our client located in Redmond, WA. This role is 100% remote but can sit onsite.

Job Description:  
  • The main function of this role is to plan, lead, and help drive the direction for globally compliant and highly crafted experiences in their latest and cutting edge AI product.

  • To make that a reality, our client's AI team is charged with partnering with their product teams to craft experiences that center the customers human right to data privacy, introduce them the power of their new AI product to support their daily goals, and that all product experiences are aligning to global requirements and laws to keep both customer and the company safe.
  • Their goal is to empower their customers control and safely introduce them to the world of AI.

Job Responsibilities:   
 
  • Design experiences with a broad charter that impacts consumer, enterprise, and education audiences.
  • Work closely with product teams, and other partner AI product teams across the company, which includes daily engagement with partner product managers, designers, researchers, engineers and leadership in all planning, development, and deployment of innovative and compliant product experiences.
  • These solutions will allow customers to understand what data collection they are consenting to, educate them on how/where they can manage those decisions, actively build trust with customers as they use the teams AI-enhanced products, and align with all privacy global requirements as defined and interpreted by our regulatory teams.
  • You will be responsible for being the connection point between product teams and regulatory teams as you collaboratively design end-to-end product experiences.
  • You will focus heavily on bringing regulatory clarity to all partners and using your creative design thinking skills to merge both UX and regulatory requirements within all AI-enhanced experiences to create the most highly crafted product experiences.
  • You should be able to design powerful solutions whilst maintaining a focus on the customers holistic experience within the platform.
  • The role will consist of 40% design heads down work, 30% meetings, 30% collaborating with team members.

Job Qualifications:
 
  • 2+ years experience designing user experiences across platforms, product design, enterprise solutions, or relevant agency experiences.
  • 2+ years experience with Figma.
  • 2+ years of experience in planning and executing end-to-end product design.
  • Must have experience with product design.
  • Portfolio Required
  • 2-4 overall years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design
  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).

Preferred Qualifications: 
 
  • Experience in planning and executing end-to-end product design.
  • Experience in understanding of design thinking and how it applies to product work.
  • Team collaborator who delivers highly usable and compelling customer experiences
  • Ability to apply customer feedback, research, and telemetry to the design process.
  • Ability to create both high-level exploratory prototypes as well as detailed designs that can be delivered by engineering teams with minimal ambiguity.
  • Systems first mindset that encourages reuse of existing patterns and components whenever possible.
  • Power user of Figma or related design and prototyping software with the ability to build and manage organized design files that are easy to follow and share.
  • Bias towards simplification of information architecture.
  • Inclusive design is embraced as a challenge, not a  limitation.
  • Effective storyteller with visual design skills to support.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity AND strives to bring clarity in those moments. (Know your strengths and weaknesses).
  • Understanding of UX’s role in the application development process.
  • Understanding of agile workflow.
  • Experience designing data-driven business apps and/or website building tools an asset.
  • Experience integrating or working with AI models an asset.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments where the only constant is change.
  • You handle ambiguity with grace by remaining laser-focused on the end user and their needs.
  • You enjoy breaking down highly complex problems and building principles and systems to ensure they are solved consistently and holistically across product and platform.
  • You love to learn, solve challenges, and dream upbreak through ideas.
  • You're a tireless advocate for the customer-enthusiastic about building and iterating on designs to discover what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products.
  • You're passionate about learning the complexities at the intersection of customer, company, and data privacy in AI, and you want to work on projects that will define best practices that change the world for the better.
  • You understand how to bring a team together to solve difficult product and customer problems, fixing what's not quite right and smoothing the customers journey through the product.
  • You to find ways to reduce complexity, remove the extraneous, and shorten the path to Wow!
  • You're fluent at communicating with product managers and developers as well as influencing your team and partners to always center the customer, ask the right questions, and inclusively collaborate to successful create highly-crafted user experiences.

Job Details:
  • Job Type - Contract hire
  • Client Location:  Redmond, WA
  • 100% Remote role but can sit onsite
  • Pay Range: $43.50-$54/hr. DOE
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
