Position Title: UX Designer 1

Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a UX Designer 1 with our client located in Redmond, WA. This is a remote role.

Job Description:
The main function of a UX/UI Developer is to develop, create, and modify user interfaces through and understanding of end-user needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Engages with the business development team and/or customer early on to seek a deeper appreciation of the customers’ business problem/goals.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications
  • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of the team is to design user experiences for the software portal, specifically focusing on the quota space.
  • Key projects: This role will contribute to creating user experiences for the software portal, gathering feature requirements, designing in Figma, and collaborating with user researchers
  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of the following:
    • 30% Meeting Time (ex: Team meetings, meeting with stakeholders to discuss feature requirements, hosting design reviews with stakeholders)
    • 50% Designing (ex: Working in Figma / FIgjam to create mocks)
    • 20% Heads down (ex: Reviewing feature specs from the stakeholders, learning about the domain areas, reviewing feedback and addressing them).

Job Qualifications:
  • Must Have 2 years of experience with creating UX designs in Figma.
  • Must Have 2 years of experience with collaborating with product owners and engineers.
  • Must Have 2 years of experience with interaction designs, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  • Having an Interaction design major is a plus.
  • 2 overall years of experience in the field.
  • The ideal resume would contain a portfolio with at least 3 projects available for review.
  • Real-life working experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and UX Researchers. Specifically, UX work; web design, with less emphasis on mobile, and designing for complex enterprise scenarios.
  • Experience in software design and development
  • Experience in professional UI development
  • Experience with data-driven UI development
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Interaction Designs + Information architecture
  • Skill in organizing and structuring content for intuitive navigation and usability.
  • Experience creating sitemaps, user flows, and interaction models.
  • Knowledge of usability heuristics and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Prototyping and wireframing
  • Proficiency in creating low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test ideas.
  • Expertise in tools such as Figma, Adobe XD.
  • Understanding of interaction design principles to ensure smooth us
  • Visual Design
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and design principles.
  • Ability to create visually appealing designs that align with a product's design guidelines.

Job Details:
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Pay Range: $33.50/hr. to $39/hr.
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
