Test Technician II (B Shift)
Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Test Technician II opportunity with our client in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pressure test of rocket engine components such as main valves, ancillary valves, housings, manifolds, and combustion chambers
- Non-conformance root cause identification
- Nitrogen and helium leak testing
- Environmental testing including vibration and thermal
- Hydrostatic proof testing and water flow testing
- Test tooling assembly
- Maintain strict cleanliness requirements for fuel and oxidizer valves
- Maintain test equipment inventory such as calibrated items
- Safely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure operations
- Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing improvements to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and increase throughput
- Support the development and improvement of electronic manufacturing work instructions
- Identify non-conformances and engage in corrective actions
Job Qualifications:
- 3+ years of pressure systems experience and component test experience
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Extensive experience reading and understanding specification and detailed work instructions
- Proven experience and successful track record developing new processes
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
- Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Lift and carry 50 lbs. for limited durations
- Work schedule may vary and depend on hardware and testing
- Work schedule may vary and depend on training required
- Remain flexible by working overtime and weekends (when necessary)

- Pay Rate: $42.35/hr.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.

I joined Protingent in the Spring of 2021 as a sales intern, transitioning to a full-time Technical Recruiter after graduating from the University of Washington in June 2021. Initially, I focused on supporting our spaceflight clients, later expanding to industries such as sustainable energy and nuclear power. While I’ve broadened my recruiting scope, I’m still partial to aerospace engineering, especially anything related to propulsion technology.

When I’m not recruiting, I love spending time outdoors – hiking, camping, roller skating, reading in parks, and swimming in Lake Union (when the Seattle weather permits). I also enjoy thrift shops, sewing/up-cycling clothes, and shooting 35mm film.
