Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Test Lab Technician I with our client located in Kent, WA.
Job Description:
- The Test Lab Technician I will review test requirements, build test support equipment, set up test configurations, check functionality of test units, conduct electrical testing of product, review and report test results, modify failing test units and retest as applicable, and maintain a work area according to established test standards and lab operating procedures.
- Reviews specifications and test requirements
- Builds test cables to production-level standards, including use of crimps, splices, heat shrink, wraps, and solder. Solder and assemble components onto a printed wiring board
- Performs work under a microscope
- Check functionality of units based on engineering released documents
- Sets up test equipment to conduct functional and environmental testing to DO-160 and other standards
- Performs tests based on established requirements using DMM, oscilloscope, frequency generators, high frequency power and other equipment to evaluate performance and reliability of products
- Analyzes and interprets test data and reports abnormalities
- As applicable, performs rework on failing units and assemble experimental units based on engineering and lab engineer instructions, and perform retesting
- Coordinates with minimal supervision and high personal initiative
- Assists other areas to maintain timeliness of projects
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Associates degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ related work experience in roles addressing regulatory requirements in fast-paced environments
- Previous work experience with Electronics (or Electrical knowledge)
- Soldering experience
- Willingness to learn
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Time Management
- Organizational Skills
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in highly regulated industry - Aerospace, Medical, Nuclear, etc.
- Test experience is nice to have
- Previous experience building test cables
- Experience with Electrical components is helpful
- Documentation experience is nice to have
Job Details:
- Work Authorization: ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. Citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.
- Contract to Hire
- Pay Rate: $22-$29/hr.
- Salary Range: 45,614 to $61,714 (DOE)
