Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Test Engineering Technician with our client located in Kirkland, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Test Engineering Technician will perform technical tasks to assist engineering with electronic systems and technical activities relating to product development.
- Troubleshoot down to component level.
- They need to have been trained to investigate a failure down to a resistor, capacitor, diode, or some other discrete component on a circuit card assembly (CCA).
- What other people define as “component” is what we call a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU).
- Troubleshoot a unit down to the discrete component that failed.
- They also need to have the ability to read and understand schematics.
Job Qualifications:
- Associate degree (AS) in Electronics Technology or related field/ equivalent electronics military schooling and experience required.
- *High-power electronics and/or high-power avionics technician experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Total qualifying experience must meet the years, duties, skills and proficiency required to perform the position level standards.
- Demonstrates competency (typically 2-4 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Performs electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning test equipment.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
- Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
- Perform preventive maintenance of test fixtures, cables, thermal chambers, vibration systems and a variety of other equipment.
- Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, and specialized test equipment.
- Assists in the construction, test, and check-out of test equipment, may include documentation markup.
- Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Location: Kirkland, WA (Monday - Thursday 6:00 Am - 4:30 PM).
- Pay Range: $35/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
