Position Title:  Sr. Test Manager

Position Description:  Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity with our client in Renton, Washington.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage and grow a top-notch Software Quality Assurance team
  • Continue to expand test automation coverage
  • Champion continuous process improvements for product development
  • Guides  cross functional teams  in the analysis of large communication systems  includinginvestigation of  emergent behavior, and review of operational scenarios and assumptions
  • Establishes processes and procedures to identifying unexpected issues and behaviors in communication systems
  • Establishes  continuous improvement strategies and  processes for the review, feedback, and follow up of systemic issues and concerns identified in our client' s products
  • Understands the  communication  system deployment and system maintenance processes used by the railroads and  works with the product development and customer service teams to  align and improve systems and products to effectively support railroad needs

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10  years of related experience in senior level engineering
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple simultaneous QA projects
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including problem solving, decision making, written and oral communications, and ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out, build, foster, and maintain productive relationships and networks
  • Knowledgeable about a variety of testing methodologies, including, but not limited to: performance testing, unit testing, user experience, test driven development, regression, and acceptance testing
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to build consensus and create teamwork to achieve goals and success
  • Highly developed conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Able to analyze, define and drive process improvement
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Previous experience working within a team used to managing and delivery against multiple and complex projects
  • Ability to appropriately empower others, hold people accountable and ensure accomplishment of goals and/or tasks
  • Proactively communicate concerns/issues to mitigate risk
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, change management,  and influencing skills
  • Comfortable and well-practiced leading teams within a matrix and virtual team relationships.
  • Experience serving as a technical advisor to the senior leadership team and Management Committee
  • Demonstrated and effective communication and relationship building skills at all levels in an organization
  • BS required in  Computer Sc., EE or significant hands-on programing/testing/technical expertise.

  Technical  Competencies:
  • In depth experience in test and QA environments
  • Familiar  with Ruby & Cucumber (and Gherkin) - coding not required
  • Middleware  experience, for example:  Red Hat MRG,  Rabbit MQ,  or other messaging middleware
  • Communication protocols: TCP/IP, Class C, Class C
  • Radio technologies a plus
