Position Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Sr. Electrical Engineer for our client located in Kent, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Senior Electrical Engineer will develop electrical designs for new products and existing product upgrades, starting with requirements, design instantiation, testing and incorporation into a final product.
- Perform engineering development by applying a moderate degree of creativity, engineering skill and judgment in applying engineering principals to electrical problems.
- Develop detailed electronic equipment design solutions, including product architecture, schematic development, BOM management, layout, configuration management, and issue tracking.
- Support the transfer of design files into the manufacturing process by writing and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Support moderate level of complexity products including supporting multiple programs involving multiple CCAs concurrently.
- Design multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) that include the following functions:
- High-speed communication supporting up to10Gbps (optional)
- Digital audio/video transmission and conversion (optional)
- Microcontroller/Microprocessor circuits
- Power management
- Serial/Peripheral interfaces
- Built-In-Test (BIT)
- Develop designs for EMI that have low radiated and conducted emissions and are resistant to susceptibility.
- Accomplish power budgeting, analysis, and characterization as it relates to current draw and thermal characteristics.
- Accomplish hardware/software bring-up/debug and product verification testing.
- Coordinate with other functional groups (systems, software, mechanical, production) to steer designs for easy integration into other processes and the aircraft.
- Provide direction to others directly and by documentation for CCA assembly, rework, and changes using Pick and Place machine, soldering irons, heat guns, hot plates, etc.
- Support environmental tests to acquire engineering data and regulatory compliance testing (primarily DO-160).
- Participate in design reviews of own and other’s designs.
Job Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Must have circuit design experience with Gigabit ethernet or some other differential interface with clock speeds in the range of 100 MHz or higher.
- Must demonstrate relatively broad experience doing hardware/circuit card design.
- Ideally 10+ years’ experience with Circuit Card design but this amount of exp. is not a hard requirement.
- Ideally Board Level Design experience involving Digital Video, Wide Bandwidth, and Power Supply/Power Management.
- Previous experience working cross functionally with teams to find solutions (SW/ Mechanical /Production Teams).
- ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout, preferably Altium Designer. Must be willing to learn Altium Designer.
- Need to demonstrate potential and willingness to expand to a systems level thinker in the future.
- Looking for an aptitude for future leadership.
- Must be able to work onsite 5 day a week.
- Must be a US Citizen
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Previous regulated Aerospace environment is highly preferred.
- High Speed serial design is preferred but not required.
- Software experience in languages or environments such as C/C++, Python, Linux, Bash, Arduino and Raspberry Pi for test automation
- Ideally able to demonstrate or have previous leadership experience, such as previous mentor or lead responsibilities.

- Onsite 5 days a week
- Salary: $102,687 to $154,031
- Potential Quarterly Bonus
