Job Description:
- Unique Selling Points: Working on the Xbox app, which has a strong brand and cool factor associated with gaming. The opportunity to work with modern technologies such as React, React Native, and TypeScript, which are not commonly associated with gaming roles. The chance to contribute to high-impact projects that directly affect the Xbox mobile ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help team implement UI/UX features for the Xbox Mobile App.
- Maintain and improve the quality of the app and related infrastructure.
- Manage bugs by reproducing, diagnosing, fixing, resolving and following up with stakeholders.
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to manage the mobile properties for Xbox, specifically working on the Xbox app on mobile. They are currently undergoing a transformation to align with new gaming and Game Pass functionalities, and they are also working on normalizing how experiences are built within the app. The team focuses on both infrastructure investments and feature development, aiming to maintain engineering excellence while building new features.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to evolving the Xbox mobile app to integrate Game Pass functionalities and align with new gaming policies and features.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20% meetings (standups, teams, 1:1s), 20% collaboration (meeting with design/architecture), 60% typing/coding/building the solutions/debugging/testing.
- Must Have Proficiency in JavaScript, with a preference for experience in TypeScript. | 1-3 years of experience.
- Must Have Experience in mobile development, specifically for iOS or Android platforms. | 1-3 years of experience.
- Must Have Knowledge of React or React Native frameworks. | 1-3 years of experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 3+ years’ experience required
- Native Mobile development experience on Android or iOS, both are preferred but not a requirement
- Familiarity with tools such as Node/NPM/Git
- Open collaboration, curious learner and growth mindset
- The ideal resume would contain experience working on an app or brand name app.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: This role is hybrid local to Redmond with 2-3 onsite.
- Pay Range: $59/hr. to $76.50/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
