Position Title: Software Design Engineer 2

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Software Design Engineer 2 opportunity with our client 100% Remote (anywhere in US is acceptable).

Job Responsibilities:

The main function of a Software Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems
Unique Selling Points: This role uniquely supports data center teams, and leverages and supports AI.
This role provides the opportunity to work with sophisticated architecture in a highly collaborative team.
Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects
Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data
Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications
Implement system software and customize to client requirements
Prepare the detailed software specifications and test plans
Code new programs to client’s specifications and create test data for testing
Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs
Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation
Provide quality assurance reviews
Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing
Purpose of the Team:
- The purpose of this team is supporting tools used by supply chain and data centers. The team makes tools and workflows to automate processes for data centers.
Key projects:
- This role will contribute to 2 large projects: UI tuning and migration – migrate infrastructure from one version to another, test coverage, work with internal business PMs often to log issues, some on-call support aspect to the role as well.
- Daily work in front end language Angular, working with an existing code base.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
- The role will consist of not many meetings – 1 hour a day max on-call.
- 50-60% coding.
- Remainder is ad hoc support

Job Qualifications:

Must Have Minimum 5 years’ experience with Unit testing in Angular.
Must Have Minimum 5 years’ experience with Front End Development.
Must Have Minimum 3 years’ experience with HTML/CSS.
3-5 overall years of experience in the field.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
2-4 years’ experience required
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Large systems software design and development experience
Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems
Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution
The ideal resume would contain experience with migrating in Angular. Some back-end experience may also help, although the role will focus on front end.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract
Location: 100% Remote Acceptable (anywhere in US is acceptable).
Pay Range: $53/hr. to $68/hr.
An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
