Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Silicon Verification Engineer 5 opportunity with our client located in Redmond, WA. This role is 100% Remote (anywhere in US is acceptable).
Job Description:
- The role will consist mostly of hardware modelling in C/C++
- Purpose of the Team – The purpose of this Hardware Team is to work with the first party chips that our client produces. The broader team includes hardware, architects, designers and Verification folks that work across a variety of platforms.
- This team is responsible for doing architecture for IP; architecting a particular hardware component that gets integrated onto a chip.
- Key projects - This role will contribute to working with chips that go into software. They will support the architect group with creating, maintaining, running tests, evaluating, architectural C models for the IP that they are producing for an Azure environment They will be predominantly involved in upgrading and handling a change to the C model to represent the new functionality that are put in for the next generation.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
- Identifying what changes in the environment is needed
- Collaboration with customers
- Planning and execution
- Releasing updates and getting updates
- Validation of software
Job Responsibilities:
- Design verification activities to design quality into our products. Activities include developing and execution test plans and procedures. Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing. Identification of test tool requirements, and participation in specification and design reviews. Must be able to execute tests with little to no supervision. Find complex bugs, root cause and track them while recording and informing others of all appropriate and relevant info. Must have experience working on larger projects, preferably seeing a project from start to finish.
- Role is very heavily focused on Hardware Modelling.
- This role provides the opportunity to support a leading company in the industry and gain valuable experience.
- Design verification activities to design quality into our products. Activities include developing and execution test plans and procedures.
- Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing.
- Identification of test tool requirements, and participation in specification and design reviews.
- Execute tests with little to no supervision.
- Find complex bugs, root cause and track them while recording and informing others of all appropriate and relevant info.
- Development of compression models with a Linux environment. However, non-compression IP may also be developed.
- Architectural C/C++ bit exact modeling including testing of these models.
- Architectural assessment of model behavior.
- Some Matlab may also be involved.
Must Have Job Requirements:
- Must have 8+ years’ experience with C/C++.
- Must have 8+ years’ experience with working in both a Linux and Windows environment.
- Must have 4+ years’ experience with Hardware Modelling.
- Must have experience working on larger projects, preferably seeing a project from start to finish.
Job Qualifications:
- 10 overall years of experience in the field. Looking for a seasoned candidate that can work independently.
- No degree is required to be eligible for this role, the team will be focusing on relevant experience. However, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree preferred.
- The ideal candidate would be someone who can sufficiently self-manage, has the ability to take initiative and has strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of C/C++ including recent experience.
- Testing of C models.
- Knowledge of working in a Linux environment including recent experience.
- Understanding of architecture, HW, HW modelling. This includes bit exact modelling and architectural tradeoffs.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a team with a broad range of people.
- Good communications skills.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Remote.
- Pay Range: $55/hr. to $71/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
