Position Title: Senior UX Designer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract-to-hire Senior UX Designer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous user research through customer interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to inform and iterate on designs, ensuring a seamless and effective user experience.
- Elevate the design thinking culture at the company, advocating for early user research involvement, iterative design processes, and user testing to improve workflow efficiency and user satisfaction.
- Create and maintain user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to inform design decisions.
- Translate research findings into presentations, design concepts, requirements, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, product owners, software engineers, human factors engineers, and regulatory teams, to ensure user-centered design is seamlessly integrated and compliant with medical standards.
- Develop and iterate on workflow and interaction designs, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
- Leverage user-centered design principles to guide workflow and interaction designs while ensuring UI consistency through existing design systems.
- Proactively stay informed about industry trends, competitor medical devices, and emerging technologies in UX design and research.
- Focus on streamlining workflows and improving the efficiency of user interactions to enhance overall user satisfaction and productivity.
- Identify opportunities to optimize and simplify complex processes, reducing cognitive load and minimizing user errors.
- Measure the impact of design changes on user efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring that the UX improvements directly contribute to better user outcomes and experiences.
- Write software requirements that satisfy user needs, business needs, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with SW test engineers on detailed test protocols used for verification and FDA submission.
- Collaborate with human factors engineers on task analysis, critical tasks, use errors, and risks.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in UX design and user research, with demonstrated experience shipping products—from design and user testing to implementation and release—while gathering and applying feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
- Experience in the medical product industry, preferably including familiarity with IEC 62366-1 (application of usability engineering to medical devices), FDA Human Factors Guidance, and IEC 62304 (software lifecycle processes for medical devices).
- Experience conducting user research, including customer interviews, usability testing, and creating user journey maps.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, with experience using Figma and Miro preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into actionable design solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present ideas and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in user-centered design principles, with experience applying them across products and workflows.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience working with UI kits and design systems, ensuring consistent design implementation across multiple products.
- Experience designing software that integrates with hardware, and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of ensuring seamless interaction between the two.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in medical device design.
- Experience with Jira and Agile methodology.
- Experience designing for 3D applications or in 3D modeling.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract-to-Hire.
- Pay Rate Range: $60-75/hr.
- Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid, 2-3 days Onsite).
- Required - US Citizen OR Greencard holder.
