Job Title: Senior Project Controls Specialist (Resource Planner)

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Senior Project Controls Specialist (Resource Planner) opportunity with our client located in Houston, TX.

Job Description:

  • The resource manager works under the PMCoE department however reports to Director, Product Development, for day-to-day activities, providing management of multiple project’s resource loading during project planning, schedule development and execution.
  • This position is specifically responsible for the integration of resources into internal projects, vendor projects, and external client projects.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the appropriate Program/Project Manager(s) and performing organizations in the establishment of new programs/projects in order to provide an appropriate resource strategy
  • Work with the Project Managers, Project Controls staff, and performing organization to create, update, and maintain the project Resource Management Plan
  • Work with the PMCoE in the establishment of programs and processes that allow for best practices to be implemented for resource management across large projects
  • Develop and manage a master resource plan
  • Perform forensic schedule analysis to support data driven decision making
  • Develop desktop instructions for cost and schedule standardized work.
  • Develop tools to provide visual representation of resource needs by organization, discipline, skills, etc.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to planners and schedulers furthering the growth of the overall unit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.  Directly applicable technical working experience is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of full-time working experience in a project planning / scheduling for large projects is required.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with an emphasis on coordinating conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Strong technical writing skills. 
  • Good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex programs/projects with multiple work phases.
  • Planning, Scheduling, Last Planner, Primavera P6 (mandatory), PRISM G2 (preferred), Deltek
  • Claims and Forensic analysis experience (preferred).


Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Rate: $50-$65 per hour.
  • Location: Houston, TX (Onsite).
