Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Optical Engineer with our client located in Hayward CA .
Job Responsibilities:
- Proven track record of building and testing custom optical systems or components, preferably for volume manufacturing
- Prior experience with characterizing optical systems, building optical measurement setups, designing experiments, and statistical data analysis to determine optical performance and quality
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and familiarity with quality assurance techniques and manufacturing data
- Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Good knowledge of tool design and typical assembly and test methods
- Hands-on experience with solid state, diode, and fiber lasers is a plus
- Hands-on experiences with opto-mechanical assemblies and systems is a plus
- Hands-on experience with optical breadboard prototyping including fiber-optic assemblies and alignment is a plus
- Any modern programming language for data acquisition, signal, and image processing is a plus
- Familiarity with microscopy is a plus
- Application of single particle tracking or TIRF is a plus
- B.S. in optics, mechanical or industrial engineering or related field with at least 2 years of industry experience or M.S. with at least 1 year of industry experience
