Position Title: Senior Commercial Paralegal
 
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Senior Commercial Paralegal opportunity.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides dedicated programmatic support for the company lawyers and will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel.
  • Prepares drafts of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, and other documents and handles both routine and first line non-routine contract review and negotiations (including confidentiality agreements) in consultation with the company lawyers.
  • Provides end-to-end processes primarily for procurement contract and confidentiality agreement reviews.
  • Creates and formats documents electronically including letters, memos, status reports, presentations (PowerPoint), spreadsheets (Excel), and other related documents.
  • Provides legal support for company government contracts and grants and associated compliance requirements.
  • Prepares updates to and provides administration of legal policies and procedures in consultation with the company lawyers.
  • Provides support for the creation of, and updates to, standard contract templates for company’s business.
  • Files, tracks and updates a variety of business and legal templates and documents.
  • Understands the nature of the business in order to provide value-added service and enhance working relationships.
  • Facilitates daily contact with company lawyers and other company personnel via email and phone.
  • Coordinates with company lawyers to meet business objectives and the company legal department’s goals and objectives.
  • •    Manages external work with outside lawyers and others regarding matters on which the company legal team is working.
  • Initiates and sustains continuous improvement in company contracting advice, negotiations, templates, drafting, implementation and management, undertaking negotiations and contract management when needed.
  • Initiates and implements technological improvements to streamline legal review and support.
  • Determines priority and responds appropriately and coordinates communications with stakeholders.  Makes recommendations as needed regarding appropriate action and follow-up.
  • Conducts legal and other research as requested (electronic and other resources), creating deliverables ready to share directly with the other functions within company.
  • Provides back-up support to company lawyers and other legal team members.
  • Tracks and coordinates other matters for the company legal team.
  • Participates actively in group meetings to understand short- and long-term goals of the legal team and the business.
  • Coordinates communication and service requests from various parts of the company business.
  • Assists Senior Corporate Counsel in preparing and delivering best practices materials and training to company organization as part of new employee orientation and on other matters.
  • Performs other tasks and projects as requested from time to time by the company lawyers and in support of the company business.
Job Qualifications:
 
  • 10 plus years or equivalent level legal support experience, preferably in a fast-paced and challenging environment in a company.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; additional professional certifications, up to and including a J.D. is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with contracting, corporate and legal principles required.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and licensing a plus.
  • Experience providing programmatic successes across and in support of organizational success, including technology improvements for the legal function
  • Ability to make solid business decisions, manage end-to-end processes, think ahead, problem-solve, and multi-task in a highly dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and conduct and present oneself in a highly professional manner and with integrity in dealing with both internal and external clients and personnel.
  • Proven ability to exercise high degree of confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback on work performance.
  • Ability to accurately keyboard at 50+ wpm.
  • Scrupulous attention to detail and excellent drafting and proofreading skills.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, filing, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks.

  • Direct Hire
  • Salary Range Level 9: $95,414 - $ 143,122
