Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract *REMOTE* Reactor Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with Core Design and other Reactor Engineers to produce items such as:
- Tech Specs
- COLR
- Reactivity Management Program
- SNM Tracking Program
- Estimated Critical Position Methodology Support
- Assist Core Design and Methods in moving the design forward with a perspective on reactor operation and testing
- Work with Operations and Core design to produce procedures for plant operation
- Assist core design in development of computational tools for reactor operators.
Job Qualifications:
- Reactor Engineer experience at a commercial nuclear plant.
- B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent experience; Advanced degree and 2+ years of relevant experience with nuclear analysis preferred.
- Knowledgeable or highly motivated to quickly learn basic nuclear reactor design concepts to meaningfully support engineering team with understanding of systems being designed and code being reviewed.
- Have working level knowledge regarding implementation of the safety analysis, nuclear core design, federal regulations, and other requirements that govern the safe operation of the reactor core.
- Be familiar with the reload design process and its lifecycle.
- Have a strong background in operational physics of a reactor core.
- Experience in reactor operation including fuel management, reactivity coefficient measurement, control rod worth measurement, etc.
- Experience with interfacing with Operations.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability and professionalism to work within published regulatory guidelines for nuclear reactor design.
- Programing experience in any language is a plus.
- Experience working in NQA-1 environments desired.
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: 100% Remote
- Pay Rate Range: $55-80/h DOE
- Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status.
