Position Title: Program Manager Technician 1 - Budget
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Program Manager Technician 1 for our client located in Redmond, WA.  This role is 100% remote,

Job Description: This team is looking for a talented Program Manager Technician to assist with managing day to day budget, interface with finance and procurement, assist with decision making for spending, and find new ideas on how to manage budget and save budget.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Partner across organizations, incl. Engineering and other finance teams to identify and drive engineering efficiencies to meet gross margin goals and OPEX goals.
  • Manage vendor engagements with cross functional partners in finance, procurement, and engineering to ensure alignment and execution of support within targets.
  • Financial modeling: build models to enable insights, surface actionable opportunities, drive the right behavior and support decision-making for engineering prioritization and strategy.
  • Financial analysis: conduct financial analysis to provide health of business readouts, ensure accuracy of readouts and trends, and articulate those findings to finance and engineering leadership to support decision-making.
  • Rhythm of business: drive regular key performance indicator reviews, support finance rhythm of business.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across the team, to set and manage non-people targets, to understand operations requirements and drive solutions for their critical work items
  • Work with various managers, budget owners, operations staff, and finance to create and track budget projections in vendor and other spend categories
  • Provide input into and/or implement account policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate business controls are established and operating effectively
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within a process or service to reduce cycle time and improve the customer experience
  • Actively seek opportunities to increase agility and drive simplification by identifying future needs to evolve processes, services, and solutions.
  • Execute monthly close operations and ensure correctness of reporting

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree business, finance, engineering, operations, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year experience in Excel (advanced level & large volume of data)
  • 1+ year experience with monthly close tasks: POs, statements of working, invoicing, accruals, generating and tracking spend, and presenting data
  • 1+ year experience with Mercury (Brex, Shine, or Qunto are also similar)
  • Familiarity with tools and different teams you would refer to for specific questions.
  • Experience in business management, operations, finance, or product/program management with track record of increasing scope of roles and responsibilities.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills and ability to create clarity.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work in tech industry is a big plus
  • Experience working in fast paced environment
  • Experience with MyOrder and Mercury
  • Experience in finance or business operations
  • Familiarity with internal MSFT tools
  • Prior MSFT experience
  • Relevant experience with engineering environments working on rhythm-of-business activities, business operations, business management, finance, or other similar environments.
  • Experience in contract management
  • Self-starter with strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing business requirements.
  • Proven capabilities to drive positive business results through cross-group collaboration and partnerships.
  • Cross-functional program management/technical program management experience.
  • Outstanding cross-functional project management skills to organize a busy workload and deliver projects on time.
  • Strong attention to detail, passion for strategic thinking and problem solving, and ability to deliver rich business insights to drive business decisions.

Job Details:
  • Job Type - Contract 
  • Location:  Remote
  • Pay Range: $47/hr. - 55/hr. DOE
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
