Job Title: Program Engineer 3 (Test/EQ)

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Program Engineer 3 (Test/EQ) opportunity with our client that is fully remote.

Job Description: The Equipment Qualification (EQ) Program Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Equipment Qualification Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This position provides leadership and technical expertise for EQ activities, coordinates workflows, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee key aspects of the EQ Program in accordance with 10 CFR 50.49, RG 1.89, and ASME QME-1 requirements, ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and successful qualification of equipment to support plant design while maintaining accountability for results and compliance.
  2. Apply engineering principles, techniques, and practices in the preparation and/or review of EQ Program work products such as EQ specifications, EQ test plans, EQ test procedures, EQ record files, engineering reports, and analyses.
  3. Produce comprehensive justifications and in-depth analyses with a talent for delivering detailed, nuanced explanations that ensure thorough documentation and clarity.
  4. Develop department R&D needs and contribute to methodology development.
  5. Act as a primary interface with regulatory agencies concerning the EQ Program, including supporting audits, Requests for Additional Information (RAI), and meetings.
  6. Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of EQ Program work. Support the preparation of work scope and schedules for assignments.
  7. Provide EQ mentoring and technical direction.
  8. Provide oversight and direction to EQ Program vendors.
  9. Coordinate EQ Program interfaces with other disciplines and partners.
  10. Apply experience in the oversight and review of EQ Program testing and qualification activities.
  11. Frequently provides high-level communication both within and without the department using various media, software, and application tools.
  12. Continued learning and comprehension of new job functions and/or concepts to seamlessly facilitate adaption to project demands.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must Have Skills:
  • Education:  A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field from a four year ABET(MRA/MOU) accredited college or university.  A professional engineer license registration or advanced degree is considered.
  • Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience within commercial nuclear power in an EQ Program capacity. Naval nuclear power experience may be credited at a 2:1 ratio, contributing a maximum of two years toward the minimum required commercial experience. Additional required or preferred experience includes:
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and guidelines into EQ programmatic requirements and requirements for SSCs requiring qualification. (Required)
  • Experience with the preparation, execution, and oversight of test plans and test procedures applicable to the qualification of SSCs by type testing. (Required)
  • Experience in the qualification of SSCs by analysis and operating experience. (Preferred)
  • Experience in the preparation and maintenance of equipment qualification record files. (Preferred)
  • Experience in applying seismic design criteria to EQ specifications. (Preferred)
  • Experience in applying EMI/RFI qualification requirements to EQ specifications. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards: 317, 383, 384, 323, 344, 497, 535, and 603. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated project management skills. (Preferred)

• Direct Hire
• Pay Range: $108,908 - $131,441 annually
• Location: Fully Remote
