Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract PCB Prototyping Technician opportunity located in Northridge, Los Angeles, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain LPKF ProtoLaser systems for structuring conductive tracks, drilling, and depaneling.
- Prepare manufacturing data from CAD files using LPKF software (e.g., CircuitPro).
- Perform lamination, stencil creation, PCB layout, and prototyping.
- Work with reflow ovens, stencil printers, pick & place machines, AOI/X-Ray inspection, BGA rework stations, and conformal coating equipment.
- Document standard work processes for setup and programming, and train backup personnel as needed.
- Manage the end-to-end PCB manufacturing process: data prep, machine setup, operation, inspection, and rework as required.
Job Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in PCB prototyping, manufacturing, or advanced technician roles.
- Strong understanding of surface mount technology (SMT) and PCB fabrication processes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and optimize workflows.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with design and engineering teams.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience programming and setting up SMT production equipment, including wave-solder or selective solder processes.
- Knowledge of PCB layout tools (Altium, KiCad, Mentor Graphics), including stackup selection, routing, and DFM considerations.
- Harness design/building experience.
- Familiarity with soldering and assembly standards (J-STD-001).
- Experience with chemical polymerics (conformal coat, staking, bonding)

- Pay Rate Range: $40-50/hr
- MUST be a US Citizen
