Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for an OTA System Engineer with our client in Redmond, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute and oversee satellite over-the-air (OTA) update operations across the constellation and ground test venues
- Implement and maintain deployment schedules for satellite software updates
- Monitor satellite health metrics during software deployments
- Perform pre and post-deployment health checks and validation procedures
- Execute recovery procedures when deployment issues arise
- Coordinate real-time with launch operations teams for satellite configuration
- Manage parallel update operations while monitoring thermal and power constraints
- Maintain and follow operational procedures for satellite software deployments
- Conduct operational risk assessments for deployment plans
- Perform acceptance testing for satellite software updates
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on operational experience in systems engineering
- 3+ years experience with Linux-based systems operations
- Strong background in aerospace, satellite or spacecraft operations
- Experience with deployment operations and scheduling
- Practical knowledge of satellite health monitoring and telemetry systems
- Experience in operational validation procedures
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Direct experience with satellite OTA operations
- Practical experience with spacecraft thermal and power management
- Experience in mission operations and scheduling
- Hands-on experience with satellite commanding and telemetry systems
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Redmond, WA .
- Pay Range: $60 - $80/hr.
