Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Mid to Senior Employment and Labor Associate with our client that is located in San Francisco, CA.
Job Description:
- Client Employment & Labor Associate with 5–8 years of litigation experience, specifically in wage and hour class actions, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims, and California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) matters.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending employers in complex employment litigation and advising clients on compliance strategies to mitigate risk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Defend employers in wage and hour class actions and representative PAGA claims in both state and federal courts.
- Handle FEHA claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
- Conduct exposure analyses and audits related to wage and hour compliance.
- Represent clients before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH, and DLSE.
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment.
- Collaborate with clients across industries, including retail, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, and staffing.
- Provide strategic counseling to employers on employment policies, arbitration agreements, and litigation avoidance.
Job Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials.
- Licensed to practice in California.
- 5+ years of labor and employment litigation experience.
- Demonstrated success in defending wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims.
- Experience with FEHA litigation and administrative proceedings.
- Proven track record of successful outcomes in high-stakes employment litigation.
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to client service and responsiveness.
- Experience defeating class certification and representative claims.
- Experience in taking and defending depositions.

- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Pay Range: $250K-$355K
- Location: San Francisco, CA.
