Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Metrology Technician III opportunity with our client in Merritt Island, FL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Program, setup and operate laser trackers
- Manual layout using design data to inspect machined, make, and received components.
- Perform first article inspections
- Perform in-process, final and receiving inspections.
- Provide feedback to machinists, technicians, and engineers with dimensional data.
- Document, track, and complete discrepancy reports.
- Provide inspection time estimates.
- Maintain and track all inspection equipment calibrations.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
Job Qualifications:
- 4+ years metrology experience
- Ability to perform inspection surveys using Laser tracker, Creaform Metrascan, Laser radar, and GSI photogrammetry (D850)
- Relevant experience in SA (Spatial Analyzer) such that you possess the ability to complete surveys independently using survey instructions/templates/MPs
- Ability to work without written instruction/methodology (emergent work)
- Experience making reports in SA or Microsoft Excel from survey data
- Ability to work from previous report templates/previous reports as guides
- Expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and applying GD&T to capture data that will fulfil survey requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Aerospace/Aviation Large volume CMM
- Laser tracker, Metrology experience

- Pay Rate: $46.20/hr
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.

When I’m not recruiting, I love spending time outdoors – hiking, camping, roller skating, reading in parks, and swimming in Lake Union (when the Seattle weather permits). I also enjoy thrift shops, sewing/up-cycling clothes, and shooting 35mm film.
