Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Mechanical Technician I contract opportunity with our client in Kent, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work directly with research and development of hardware for various advanced manufacturing technologies
- Assist in assembling and supporting testing of hardware for various advanced manufacturing technologies
- Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality
- Bring rough sketches, technical drawings, and verbal instructions to life
- Work from sketches or CAD drawings
Job Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience in aerospace or related fields
- Excellent mechanical ability and understanding
- Knowledge of electronics and measurement system, including calipers, required; knowledge of common shop tools, manual metalworking machines, and other power equipment
- Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate differing opinions in a collaborative environment without conflict among other team members
- Knowledge in the use of 3-D CAD tools to view models for assembly
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and standards
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a R&D environment, AKA working in a dynamic workplace with regularly changing needs
- Experience with metallic structure fabrication such as precision drilling, cutting, and assembly
- Experience with installation and maintenance of instrumentation and harness assemblies
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware
- Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc) and pressurized system safety
Job Details:
- 6 Month Contract
- Location: Kent, WA
- Pay Rate: $32.40/hr
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
