Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Hybrid contract Mechanical Engineering Drafter 1 opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use your knowledge of SolidWorks to capture engineering design intent to generate exploded assembly and 2D drawings for complex mechanical designs from 3D models
- Responsible for generating new Part Numbers and entering data into ERP systems and BOM creation.
- May be involved in creation and editing of operation manuals.
- Occasional extended hours may be required to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
- Certificate, AA, or BS in technical major such as Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Drafting or similar required.
- Minimum of 1+ year of previous drafting experience required.
- Proficient in the use of the SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling tool.
- Proficient in the creation of Exploded Views and 2D Drawings using SolidWorks
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel Word and, Teams.
- Ability to work in a cross functional team environment and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications.
- Working knowledge of GD&T preferred
- Experience with ERP Software applications a Plus
- Experience with creating Electrical Wiring Diagrams a Plus
- Experience with OrCAD a Plus
- A strong understanding of engineering principles, drafting techniques, and manufacturing processes is required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
