Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Materials Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of hands-on laboratory-based materials testing and characterization activities to support the reactor.
- Perform metallography and characterization for a wide range of metallic and ceramic materials.
- Generate test reports detailing test or characterization and resulting data to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualification.
- Operate materials focused laboratory equipment (e.g., furnaces, polishing equipment, metallography equipment, SEM-EDS, etc).
- Assist with the design, fabrication, and operation of custom laboratory experiments.
- Perform formal receipt inspections of incoming materials, update inventory, and physically maintain the controlled material storage area.
Job Qualifications:
- A Technology, Bachelors, or advanced degree with related experience, or equivalent experience. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or a related technical discipline is desired.
- Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience is required
- Metallography and SEM-EDS experience are required
- Lab management experience (e.g., maintaining spaces and/or equipment and training users) is preferred but not required
- Experience working to quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 is preferred
- Strong communication skills desired.
- The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Everett, WA (Onsite).
- Pay Rate Range: $53-60/hr.
- Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status.
