Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Manufacturing Test Architect opportunity with our client, located in Bellevue, Washington (Onsite),
Job Responsibilities:
- Our client is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Architect to join the Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) team. This role is responsible for the overarching technical strategy and backend systems that ensure hardware quality at a global scale.
- System Architecture: Design and architect comprehensive manufacturing test strategies for cutting-edge hardware platforms, focusing on scalability and data integrity.
- Manufacturing Line Integration: Develop and deploy sophisticated manufacturing line test equipment and automation frameworks that interface directly with production hardware.
- Backend & Data Systems: Architect and maintain the backend infrastructure, including databases and data pipelines, to capture and analyze high-volume manufacturing test data.
- Global Factory Support: Work closely with manufacturing partners in Asia. This involves managing time-shift collaborations and periodic international travel (<20% of the time).
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the technical authority on MTE, collaborating with hardware design and firmware teams to ensure "Design for Test" (DFT) principles are met.
- Hands-on Technical Execution: While an architect-level role, you are expected to be technical and hands-on with coding, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting on the factory floor.
Job Qualifications:
- Strong Manufacturing Test (MTE) Background: Extensive experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing and test system development.
- Programming Mastery: Professional-level proficiency in programming (Python, C++, etc.) for test automation and system control.
- Database & Systems Expertise: Proven experience designing and managing databases and backend systems required for manufacturing environments.
- Technical Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems and software bottlenecks in a production environment.
- Availability for Onsite & Travel: Must be able to work primarily onsite in Bellevue and travel internationally up to 20% of the time to support Asian manufacturing sites.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Full-Stack MTE Experience: Knowledge of the entire test stack, from board-level electrical probing to high-level cloud data analytics.
- Experience with Asian Supply Chains: Prior experience working directly with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) in Asia and navigating the associated logistical and communication challenges.
- Linux/Unix Proficiency: Experience with Linux OS and command-line interfaces for managing test servers and embedded systems.
- Advanced Systems Design: Bonus if you have experience with distributed systems, SQL/NoSQL database architecture, and real-time data visualization.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Pay Rate Range: $80/hr-$145/hr (Reflecting architect-level seniority).
- Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite).
