Position Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Technician with our client located in Kirkland, WA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform complex technical tasks to assist engineering staff with industrial layouts and manufacturing production processes.
• Quickly respond to production floor issues, including tooling misalignments, machine stoppages, and incorrect work instructions, determining methods to remedy complex malfunctions.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with time and motion studies, maintaining manufacturing instructions, and initiating change requests within ERP/ERS systems.
• Perform evaluations and audits of current work instructions to identify and implement improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Regularly engage with production operators to ensure instructions are clear and accurate, flowing feedback to Engineering to incorporate necessary changes.
• Design and optimize industrial layouts and manufacturing sequences to enhance overall productivity.

Job Qualifications:

• Associate degree (AS) in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field required.
• Demonstrates proficiency (typically 4–6 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).
• Advanced electrical/electronic knowledge, including a strong understanding of schematics, drawings, and the interworking of machines (e.g., AC/DC power conversion).
• Mechanical expertise regarding the design, use, repair, and maintenance of industrial tools and machinery.
• Proven track record in complex problem solving and troubleshooting, with the ability to identify patterns or defects within distracting environments (Flexibility of Closure).
• Expertise in manufacturing production processes, including data analysis for process improvement and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
• Strong communication and "problem sensitivity" skills—the ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong before a failure occurs.

• Salary Range: $31.76 - $47.64/hr.
• ITAR obligations are associated with this role; U.S. Citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
