Integration Technician - Metallic Assembler I (B Shift)

Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Metallic Assembler Integration Technician opportunity with our client in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform welding processes on aluminum, steel, and alloy parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and precision blending using hand tools to prepare metallic surfaces for welding and non-destructive evaluation.
- Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
- Join metal parts to form a permanent bond.
- Weld metal components and parts using standard specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches and may also utilize friction stir welding (FSW) methods using solid-state joining.
- Use electrical currents or friction to create heat and bond metals.
- Observe tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
- Set up and operate large, motion-controlled machines to create friction stir welds on launch vehicles.
- Perform periodic maintenance on machines with complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience in manufacturing or aerospace.
- Must be able to operate a computer and able to read/understand engineering drawings
- Experienced with and excels at tedious, repetitive, small precision welding.
- Ability to problem-solve and have good, clear communication skills.
- Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches.

- Pay Rate: $32.67/hr
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
