Job Description
Position Title: IT Manager
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting long term contract for a IT Manager opportunity with our client in Kent, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fundamental and advanced techniques of programming and experience with programming languages, tools, report writers, SQL, Visual Studio, etc.
- HTML5, XHTML, CSS, XML, Java, JavaScript, VB-Script, or Active Server Pages (ASP), VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, or .Net Core 8+.
- Relational database models and issues related to database maintenance with at least one of the following major database management systems: Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
- Server and database High Availability and Disaster Recovery options
- Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configuration
- Web-enabled database applications
- Principles and techniques of analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex computer and communications systems
- Technical issues management, techniques, and documentation
- Business needs analysis and requirements gathering
- Standard software development lifecycles
- Principles and concepts regarding development and maintenance of system documentation
- Current literature, trends, developments, and technical aspects in Software Engineering
- Effective and result-oriented management principles and practices
- Effective supervisory and management principles and practices
- Research and analytical methods and techniques
- Effective oral and written communications skills
- Correct usage of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Supervisory principles and practices
- Modern office practices, procedures and equipment
- Record-keeping techniques.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Five (5) years of Software Engineering experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and/or management experience.
- Staff management, development and motivation experience
- Software Engineering projects management experience (SDLC/Agile/Scrum)
- Information technology contract negotiation and administration experience
- Must successfully pass the City's pre-employment fingerprinting and background check; subject to periodic re-evaluation during course of employment
- Municipal government business computer systems experience is desirable.

- Pay Range: $66-$84/hr.
