Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for an IT consultant with our client located in Everett, WA.
Job Qualifications:
• Experience in security audits at the IT departmental participation level
• 8+ years’ experience in systems administration with a Linux focus
• Perform system documentation, maintenance, and review, in ITSM app.
• Respond to queries professionally, timely, and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with stake holders as required; keeping them informed of incident or project progress, notifying them of impending changes, or agreed outages.
• Enter all work into ITSM application.
• Maintain positive, cooperative, and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others you meet.
• Assist in operations and security remediation activities including configuration, hardening, patching, upgrading, and validation testing.
Experience:
• Ability to act with a sense of urgency while paying attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and triage effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate in a positive, effective, and efficient manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prepare, organize and present information to groups of people.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Excel, and Visio.
• Proficient with end point protection apps such as Kandji, Crowdstrike, etc.
• Advanced technical skillset in Linux server OS distributions.
• Intermediate technical skillset in LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
• Intermediate technical skillset in Window Server 2016 and later
• Intermediate technical skillset in Mac OS.
• Drive and desire to continuously improve processes to increase operational efficiency and service delivery satisfaction.
• Advanced administration in VXrail, VMware, and Hyper-V
• GPO design, test, and deployment within a multi-OU on-prem AD/Okta/Azure environment
• Strong RMM/MDM methodologies
Pluses:
• Experience with regulated/export-controlled environments is a plus
• Experience in Nuclear, Defense, or Aerospace is a plus
• Experience with high performance computing environments in support of R&D initiatives is a plus
• Experience in large test and experiment laboratory environments
• Experience with installing and supporting engineering applications is a plus.
• Proficient with scripting in PowerShell, python, bash, definite plus.
• Experience with Single Sign-On and Lifecycle management applications such as Okta a plus
• Experience with Cisco Meraki network equipment a plus
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes a plus
• Experience with CI/CD systems and automated build / deployment techniques a plus
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Formal training, educational experience in IT is preferred, but not required.
• Possesses valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, customers, and vendors in person, on the telephone, and on the computer, to provide assistance.
• Frequently operates a motor vehicle while traveling between our various facilities.
• Frequently sits and/or stands for long periods of time.
• Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands for documentation, research, and troubleshooting.
• Frequently bends, stoops, kneels, or climbs when installing or moving computers, monitors, servers, etc.
• Occasionally lifts objects such as office supplies, computers, monitors, and servers with weight up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work afterhours at times
• Must be a US Citizen, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
Job Details:
- Contract 6 months
- Pay Rate: $65-75/hr
- Location: Onsite (Everett, WA)
