Position Title: Health Outcomes esearcher, Health Economics & Outcomes Research.

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for a Health Outcomes esearcher, Health Economics & Outcomes Research with our client located in Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive, data-driven, and objective value assessments for emerging technologies to demonstrate the upside value potential and risk of pipeline assets across various Intuitive business units.
  • Participate in the development of large-scale HEOR database projects in alignment with clinical and regulatory pathway to support the value proposition for pipeline products in key clinical areas
  • Lead HEOR studies (e.g., burden of illness, comparative effectiveness studies) from inception to completion, including preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
  • Develop project deliverables, including models, reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and slide decks, as appropriate. Effectively disseminate the project results to the cross functional teams and generate meaningful research impact.
  • Review, assess and interpret relevant medical and evidence-based outcomes literature & statistical analyses in surgery and therapeutic areas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Validating the findings using an experimental and iterative approach and effectively present to cross functional partners and teams, including but not limit to market access, hospital channel marketing, clinical affairs, biostatistics, market research, clinical and product marketing, and publication teams
  • Work with HEOR and market access vendors, including scientific guidance, contracting, and budgets. Coordinate project activities.

Job Qualifications:
  • Master degree in health economics, public health, health policy and management, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field with 2+ years of HEOR experience; Or PhD degree in related field
  • Expertise in statistics (particularly causal inference and Bayesian inference), or machine/deep learning (particularly natural language processing and neural network), including addressing challenges from incomplete, unrepresentative, and mislabeled data
  • Experience in HEOR related observational study design, implementation, analysis and publication
  • Strong statistical programming skills using R/python, and/or SQL
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to distill complex information into concise and impactful messages/presentations.
  • Strong reporting, project management, analytical and prioritization skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year experience in working in medical device, pharmaceutical or other life science strategy consulting, health economic and outcomes research, or market analytics.
  • Strong working knowledge of the technical and methodological aspects of large healthcare database or registries and observational study design and implementation. Capable of managing registry and non-interventional study projects.
  • Experience using a programming language (Python, R, SQL, C/C++ etc.) to manipulate data, draw insights from large data sets, and train machine learning models.
  • Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design, and model building
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques and a passion for making methods robust and scalable
  • Skilled in functioning within a matrix organization where managing through influence
  • Record of publications in health economics, health services research, epidemiology or clinical journals
  • Natural business acumen.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, work independently and can create structure within ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Natural business acumen.
