Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Hardware Test Engineer 2 - Quantum Hardware with our client located in Redmond, WA. This role is hybrid with 2-3 days onsite a week.
Job Description:

- Unique Selling Points: The role involves building the readout architecture for topological qubits, presenting a chance to contribute to a significant and impactful project. It also provides the opportunity to work closely with the Quantum team, which offers a significant professional development opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for designing and measuring an active, on-chip, superconducting circulator.
- Experience with microwave electromagnetic simulation, cryogenic microwave measurements in dilution refrigerators, and solid-state qubit readout is valuable.
- Purpose of the Team: This team specifically works on the qubit readout for their first party quantum hardware.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to building a component in the in the measurement chain. The project will be building an active circulator with super-semi junctions.
- Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20% meetings, 25% planning and coordination on the projects, 25% heads down individual work (design and stimulation, test and measurement, etc.), 30 % analysis and interpretation of results.
Job Qualifications:
- Must Have 2+ years’ experience with Electromagnetic simulation (could all be academic experience from PhD and Research work)
- Must Have 2+ years’ experience with Cryogenic microwave testing and measurement. (could all be academic experience from PhD and Research work)
- 2-4+ overall years of experience in the field.
- A PHD or master’s degree in Physic is very strongly preferred but not a requirement.
- The ideal resume would contain experience measuring solid-state qubits and experience with condensed matter systems
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Redmond, WA (This role is hybrid with 2-3 days a week onsite).
- Pay Range: $44/hr. to $55/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
