Job Description:
- We are looking for an experienced Silicon IP Characterization Engineer who has experience of working in the silicon characterization lab to validate and characterize the performance of the high-speed CMOS D2D and SERDES interface.
- This role often requires a mix of hands-on lab work, software development, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of this position entails executing the silicon validation and characterization of cutting edge, high-performance, high-speed, low power CMOS D2D and SERDES silicon interface following industry best practices.
- Bring up, validate, and characterize high-speed D2D and SERDES blocks in new and existing silicon chips.
- Develop test methods to evaluate performance and calculate operating margins of high-speed serial interfaces across various conditions.
- Collaborate with design teams to improve testability and define test infrastructure logic.
- Write software routines (e.g., Python, C/C++) to bring up and validate D2D and SERDES IPs and integrate drivers with software teams.
- Analyze test results and document findings to provide insights and recommendations.
- Purpose of the Team: Team is continuing to revolutionize consumer electronic devices & Cloud Computing.
- Key projects: This group designs high performance mixed signal ASICs in leading edge CMOS technology using custom IC design tools. You will work in a diverse, dynamic environment and interact with other teams to help design and test great products!
- Must Have 8 years’ experience with Bring up, validate, and characterize high-speed D2D and SERDES blocks in new and existing silicon chips.
- Must Have 8 years’ experience with Develop test methods to evaluate performance and calculate operating margins of high-speed serial interfaces across various conditions.
- Must Have 8 years’ experience with Writing software routines (e.g., Python, C/C++) to bring up and validate D2D and SERDES IPs and integrate drivers with software teams.
- 8-10 overall years of experience in the field.
- MSFT experience is nice but not required.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated engineer with excellent technical & interpersonal skills, used to working independently or as a key member of a fast-moving design team.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience working with D2D and SERDES platforms.
- Knowledge of high-speed D2D and SERDES architectures (e.g., NRZ, PAM4) and protocols.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and BERTs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Raleigh, NC (This is an onsite role 5 days a week).
- Pay Range: $77/hr. to $106/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
