Fluence and Radiological Engineer

Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Direct Hire Fluence and Radiological Engineer opportunity located in Lynchburg, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for radiological analyses for commercial power plants and R&D efforts, using the latest codes and methods for nuclear applications.
- Determining the lifetime impact on components due to calculated fluence values
- Calculating dose due to theoretical accidents and the impact on surrounding areas
- Use of optimization tools and automation to streamline the analyses
- Participate in a support interface with customer and regulatory authorities to obtain regulatory approval of the client's reactor core design, codes and methods
- Prepare and review safety analyses, calculation files, and associated records.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in an Engineering position
- Pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) vessel fluence analysis experience, dose/source term, and/or spent fuel pool criticality experience.
- Experience in computer model development and application (e.g., MCNP, SCALE, SERPENT, CASMO, SIMULATE, or other nuclear industry analysis code).
- Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships.
- Have the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments and execute them on-time with quality.
