Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for Field Technical Advisor (FTA) with our client that is located in Fenton, MO.
Job Description:
- This role is part of a team that is responsible for ensuring construction of a quality product that will perform to Client standards and expectations and for promoting customer relationships that will enhance Client position as "Our Customers Preferred Choice."
- This position offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates on a case-by-case basis following an initial period of in-office training, with occasional visits to our St. Louis office as business needs require.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Field Technical Advisor ("FTA"), you will add value to Client’s product by supporting its customers and contractors with onsite technical support during construction.
- The FTA provides technical advice during the unloading, storage, and installation of Client equipment, inspects the assembly, alignment and clearances of equipment supplied by Client, maintains back charges within budget, addresses construction issues/problems, interprets mechanical and structural drawings for contractors, reports job progress including field problems using Client field service report form, and manages contractors in onsite repairs and modifications.
- Specific onsite responsibilities will include coordinating how Client equipment can be lifted or moved using different types of construction equipment to assure no damage to the equipment, making decisions as to whether contractor deviations from Client drawings are acceptable, making decisions if field issues are Client responsibility or Contractor's responsibility, reviewing construction processes and making suggestions on how to design our equipment better, and managing and directing Client subcontractors in repairs or modifications, to include customer or plant on site policies and requirements as well as Client safety, quality, production, and schedule.
Job Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience as an onsite Lead or Supervisor in the construction or energy fields; experience as a superintendent preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of industrial construction in the power industry, welding and NDE.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, ability to work with office engineers, field erection craftspeople, construction management and customers. Proficiency in English.
- Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
- This position requires 100% travel by plane or approved vehicle with unpredictable and limited notice, extensive walking, climbing stair towers and ladders, entering confined spaces, and working in all weather conditions.
