Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Embedded Software Engineer opportunity located in Roseville, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain real-time C++ software for aerospace systems, ensuring high performance and reliability in safety-critical applications.
- Debug complex multi-threaded, multi-process software systems, addressing memory management, compiler-specific behavior, and timing issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define, implement, and test software interfaces across various air vehicle subsystems.
- Manage and maintain large-scale software repositories using modern tools, including Jira, Bitbucket, Git, and CMake.
- Integrate and test flight software in fully simulated environments (e.g., Simulink/Matlab) and support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing when required.
- Contribute to the definition and implementation of software requirements and participate in system-level design decisions for flight-critical systems.
- Work with communication protocols and data buses commonly used in aerospace (e.g., UDP, ARINC 429, RS-232/485) to interface with various system components
- Ensure compliance with software development standards such as DO-178, and contribute to the generation of certification and verification documentation.
Job Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in real-time C++ programming
- Experience in debugging multi-process/multi-thread real-time systems, compiler nuances, and memory management.
- Experience in utilizing and maintaining complex code repositories with modern tools (Atlassian suite, Jira, Bitbucket, CMake, etc).
- Familiarity with integrating and testing flight software in fully simulated environments (ex., Matlab, Simulink)
- Familiarity with hardware in the loop testing (HWIL)
- Familiarity with common communications protocols and networking. (UDP, ARINC 429, RS-232/485 Serial)
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Roseville, CA.
- Pay Rate Range: $60-75/hr.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a Green Card Holder
