Position Title: Electrical CAD Designer II
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting long term contract (potential to convert to FTE) Electrical CAD Designer II opportunity with our client located in Renton, WA. Flexible hybrid work environment.
Job Description:
- The Electrical CAD Designer II will produce and update complex schematics and PCB layouts using ALTIUM for advanced radio (RF) products.
- Produce schematic drawings and printed circuit board layouts given input from engineers.
- Key responsibility of administering and maintaining product BOMs and structure in PLM tool, Arena, through organized change control and configuration management.
- Administer configuration management tool (Arena) and enforce change process
- Input may be in the form of marked-up / redline drawings or may need to be created from scratch in Altium using manufacturer reference designs
- Produce and maintain BOMs, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings and full documentation package for a PCBA build.
- Create new parts and maintain part libraries
- Participate in hardware design reviews
- Work with engineers and department manager to develop priorities and task roadmaps
Job Requirements:
- Proven skill in Altium or similar schematic capture and layout design
- Previous lay out experience is required, ideally experience in one or more of high density, high speed, or RF circuits or similar complexity design
- Must have experience or an aptitude and interest in PCB management and PLM tools, not just layout / board work.
- Motivated to be part of the HW team and integrate long-term is essential
- Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment
- Time management and organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with MS Office applications
- Ability to self-manage and exhibit grace under pressure
Preferred Requirements:
- Associates degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience with any PLM system (experience with Arena is ideal)
- RF PCB layout experience
- Experience in an ISO 9000 environment
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract -potential to convert to FTE
- Pay Rate Range: $81- $90hr
