Job Description
Position Title: EMC/EMI/RF Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract EMC/EMI/RF Engineer opportunity with our client located in Bellevue, Washington (Onsite).
Job Responsibilities:
- EMC/EMI Testing: Conduct comprehensive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing on various wireless products, including Bluetooth, WiFi, and 2.4GHz devices.
- Compliance Testing: Ensure products meet relevant industry standards and regulations, such as FCC, CE, and IC.
- RF Testing: Perform RF testing to verify the performance and functionality of wireless modules and systems.
- Protocol Analysis: Analyze wireless protocols (Bluetooth, WiFi, 2.4GHz protocols - e.g. Nordic, wireless controllers, etc.). to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Linux and USB: Work with Linux-based systems and conduct USB-level protocol analysis and driver development.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve EMC, EMI, and RF-related problems.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed test reports and documentation.
Job Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineer background.
- Proven experience as an individual contributor (less interested in managers).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in EMC/EMI testing and compliance.
- Previous experience conducting compliance testing to ensure products meet industry standards and regulations (e.g., EMI, EMC).
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic principles and RF engineering.
- Experience with EMC/EMI testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
- Previous experience analyzing wireless protocols (Bluetooth, WiFi, 2.4GHz protocols - e.g. Nordic, wireless controllers, etc.) to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience with Linux-based systems and conducting USB-level protocol analysis and driver development.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Best if you have previous experience with consumer electronics (vaguely “PC” architecture).
