Position Description:Â Protingent Staffing has an exciting Direct Hire Design Engineer opportunity located in Addison, TX. Â
Job Responsibilities:
- Support development, design, and production of propulsion hardware
- Contribute to development of rocket engines and test articles
- Utilize design and analysis software throughout design process
- Make development decisions based on technical merit, cost, and schedule metrics
- Be a part of a rapid R&D team engaged in the development and testing of new rocket engines for a broad-range of clients
- Analyze and interpret test data to improve and qualify engines meeting client specifications and/or research objectives
- Generate or modify 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering or related field
- Experience with rocket engine development, design, and testing
- Experience with CAD and Analysis of mechanical and fluid systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote)
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems
- Capability to solve complex problems and manage program needs
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment
- Self-motivate with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Focus on safety, reliability, innovation, efficiency, teamwork
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
- Physical dexterity is typically required to work on test/flight hardware
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis
- 2+ years of experience with CREO (preferred), SOLIDWORKS, NX, or CATIA
- Familiarity with tolerance, GD&T(ASME Y14.5) and design for manufacturability
- Master’s degree in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering or related field
- Familiarity with Windchill or related PLM software
- Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience with commercially available FEA software such as ANSYS(preferred), Nastran, Abaqus
- General Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, heat treating)
- General system level knowledge of mechanical and testing propulsion hardware
- Active or Previous Security Clearance
