Data Engineer
Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Data Engineer Opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Data Engineering & UDW Enablement:
- Ingest and transform Salesforce (SFDC), SQL and No SQL data, FHIR healthcare data, and other sources into Snowflake DW.
- Design data marts, graph data structures, and integrate with graph databases (GraphDB) in Snowflake optimized for conversational agent retrieval.
- Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, Azure Data Factory, dbt, or equivalent cost-effective tools.
- Knowledge of Salesforce Apex integration and workflows
- Ensure high data quality, governance, lineage, and performance for near real-time queries.
- Hands-on experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing.
- Familiarity with modern data tools and frameworks to accelerate delivery.
- Digital Agent Implementation:
- Build GenAI/LLM-powered agents that interact with Snowflake, GraphDB, and other systems.
- Integrate with telephony systems (e.g., Twilio, Amazon Connect, or Azure equivalents) for inbound and outbound calls.
- Implement real-time and near real-time connections to surface answers quickly and accurately.
- Incorporate transcription services and concepts of short-term and long-term memory for better conversational continuity.
- Enable secure authentication, context passing, and warm transfers to Salesforce Service Cloud or call center platforms.
- Experience with prompt engineering and applying LLMs in practical use cases.
- Exposure to backend API development and integration patterns.
- Architecture, Leadership & Compliance:
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture from data ingestion to AI agent interaction, including Snowflake and GraphDB components.
- Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions comply with HIPAA, TCPA, and data privacy standards, with strong PHI/PII protections.
- Mentor contractors or junior engineers and lead technical delivery milestones.
- Optimization & Innovation:
- Monitor and optimize latency, cost, accuracy, and resolution rates of both pipelines and AI agents.
- Explore advanced use cases such as outbound engagement, personalization, and multimodal inputs (voice + text).
Job Qualifications:
- 7+ years of data engineering experience, with expertise in Snowflake, GraphDB, and ETL/ELT pipeline design.
- Proven experience ingesting and transforming Salesforce (SFDC) data and working with FHIR healthcare data models.
- Strong background in graph data structures, graph databases (GraphDB), and real-time data retrieval architectures.
- Hands-on knowledge of LLM/GenAI-based applications, including vector databases, embeddings, and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.).
- Experience with telephony integration, transcription services, and memory management in conversational AI.
- Proficiency in data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Azure Data Factory, dbt, or similar).
- Familiarity with compliance requirements in healthcare (HIPAA, TCPA, PHI/PII).
- Excellent leadership, requirement-gathering, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Job Type: Contract
- Pay Rate Range: $70-75/hr.
- Location: Remote acceptable
