Position Title: Prototype Assembler Specialist
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Direct Hire opportunity for a Prototype Assembler Specialist with our client located in Kirkland, WA.
Job Description:
- The Prototype Assembler Specialist will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and functionality of our cutting-edge electrical and electronic equipment.
- Your primary responsibility will be to assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment according to technical specifications, industry standards, and company guidelines.
- You will work closely with a team of engineers and other technicians to bring innovative solutions to life and contribute to the advancement of our technology.
- This is a highly skilled, hands-on role supporting developmental requirements in preproduction projects and providing production support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prototyping and Assembly: Assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment according to technical specifications, industry standards, and company guidelines.
- Rework and Repair: Perform CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) rework and population of CCAs with components based on schematics, oral instructions, and work instructions. Perform refurbishment and repair of complex cable assemblies.
- Engineer/Technician Support: Provide direct support to Engineers and Technicians with soldering, assembly, and repair of test fixtures and cable assemblies.
- Quality and Testing: May perform rework and quality testing. Use test equipment to diagnose failures in cable assemblies and CCAs.
- Documentation & Compliance: Follow work instructions, company guidelines, and industry standards to ensure product quality and functionality. Work assignments may be short-notice and may have short timelines for completion in a fast-paced environment.
- Inspection: Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrates expertise (typically 6+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).
- Candidates must show a work history where CCA rework, soldering, and complex electronic assembly consumed the majority (ideally > 50%) of their time.
- Candidates must either hold current or recently expired IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
and/or related IPC-7711/7721 (Rework, Repair and Modification of Electronic Assemblies) certifications. - Ideally experience from a highly regulated environment where electronic quality is paramount
- Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Originality: The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to perform soldering, assembly, and repair of electrical/electronic equipment, CCAs, and cable assemblies, including component population and rework from schematics.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Direct Hire
- Location: Kirkland, WA.
- Salary Range: $26.73-$40.10 per hour.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role; U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
