Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Alkali Metal Test Engineer opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal customers to translate conceptual requirements into actionable test specifications, including design input, instrumentation strategy, and success criteria.
- Will serve as test engineer supporting experimental design, operation, repair, and analysis of tests to supporting the reactor with an emphasis on high temperature liquid sodium systems.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts including fixture design, control system integration, and lab space planning, leveraging technicians, designers, and facility personnel as needed.
- Design and select instrumentation for testing, based around data acquisition and control hardware and software, to meet experimental test objectives.
- Develop and document test plans, test designs and test procedures for experimental work.
- Conduct data analysis and generate test reports.
- Support continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices in order to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of Engineering.
- Alkali metal or molten salt testing and handling experience is preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in a testing / research and development environment preferred.
- Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.
- Experience in design and integration of data acquisition and control system platforms.
- Experience with hands-on assembly and operation of test systems.
- Experience working with fluid systems is preferred.
- Experience with multiple types of testing (R&D, Acceptance, Validation, Qualification).
- Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given work week.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Safety conscience.
- Ability to operate within a lightly structured environment where test development requires a mix of standards-based guidance and first-principles problem solving.
- Familiarity with engineering tools such as LabVIEW, SolidWorks, Jira/Confluence, and the Microsoft Office 365 suite is preferred.
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
- Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

- Pay Rate Range: $46- $74 *Pay rates are approved based on candidate location, education and experience*
- Location: Everett, WA
- Travel Required: 0-5%
- Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or of a protected person status
