Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for Component Engineer 3 with our client located in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Description:
• Work closely with Supplier Engineers, Design, Manufacturing, and project teams to implement performance, quality, capacity, and cost improvements.
• Select the right process and suppliers for the part, considering long term fit and total cost of ownership.
• Source, select and qualify alternate component technologies and / or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, streamlining of supply chain, and commodity strategy
• Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources.
• Drive to closure supplier variances from symptom through root cause analysis to corrective action, including succinct CAPA/SCAR documentation; Evaluate and qualify supplier requested material, design and process changes.
• Maintain key metrics for the team and suppliers, and continually drive for timely achievement of those metrics.
• Electrical or Electro-mechanical background preferable.
Job Details:
• Contract: 12 months
• Pay range: $65 - 72 /hr
• Location: Santa Clara, CA. (Onsite)
