Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for CNC Operator with our client that is in Plainview, NY.
Project Description:
- We are seeking a CNC Operator with expertise in running Swiss sliding head stock lathe.
- This role requires experience with Fanuc controls, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verify components are produced to print (dimensional and visual inspection)
- Change tools.
- Make offsets.
- Load material and remove scrap.
- Fill out various paperwork.
- Simultaneous operation of multiple machines
- Minor troubleshooting/problem solving
- Part inspection
Job Qualifications:
- Must have Strong experience of CNC machining, GD&T, and Fanuc control
- Must have Experience with running Swiss sliding head stock lathe (Citizen, Tornos, Star, Tsugami)
- Must have Experience in Medical device manufacturing industry.
- 2-3 years of experience running Swiss sliding head stock lathe (Citizen, Tornos, Star, Tsugami)
- Problem solving skills
- Positive attitude

- GD&T – blueprint
- Speak and read English
- Using variety of measurement instruments
- Micrometers
- Thread gages
- Height gages
- Dial indicators
- Bore gages
- Shadowgraph
- VMM + but not required
- Necessary Education, Skills, and Competencies (including licensing and certifications):
- 2/4 years’ experience with lathe/mill turning machines.
- Experience using the Fanuc control preferred.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints (GD&T symbols).
- Working knowledge of various materials & tools (inserts, endmills, drills Etc.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and positive can-do attitude
- Must be dependable and possess a willingness to learn new techniques.
- Ability to read and write English.
