Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for a CNC Machinist 2 with our client in Everett, Washington.
Job Responsibilities:
- Uses metrics to define standards for productivity, quality, and cost. Incumbent is responsible for meeting all defined standards
- Set up and run multi-axis CNC machines, including but not limited to mills and lathes
- Proficient in essential functions of CNC Machinist 1 role
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods/sequences
- Select and install cutting tools; mount fixtures and workpieces; load required programs
- Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relation to the workpiece
- Select and set cutting tools, depths, speeds, and feeds to meet drawing requirements
- Train Level 1 CNC Machinists
- Actively suggest ideas for process improvements and cost savings (improve time, reduce waste, etc.)
- Follow all environmental health and safety policies and procedures; model safe work practices
- Contribute to and support a positive and respectful workplace environment
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience (or equivalent education) as a CNC Machinist
- Demonstrated proficiency in machine setup in addition to basic operation
- Aerospace industry experience is a plus
- Thorough working knowledge of shop math and geometric tolerances
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on customer service
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical skills.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract to hire
- Location: Everett, Washington (on-site)
- Pay Rate Range: $34-$35/hr.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role; U.S. Citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
