Job Description
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Backend Engineer opportunity located in Northridge, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement REST APIs using Smithy models
- Develop and maintain Coral Lambda Endpoint services using Kotlin/Java
- Build and maintain Cognito Lambda triggers using TypeScript/Node.js
- Implement authorization and authentication mechanisms
- Develop policy management and tenant administration features
- Work with AWS DynamoDB for data persistence
- Implement secure authentication flows with Cognito
- Design and maintain authorization policies using AWS Verified Permissions
- Handle sensitive data with proper encryption and access controls
Job Qualifications:
- 5+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin/Java and TypeScript/Node.js
- Experience with AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito)
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (CDK/CloudFormation)
- Understanding of authentication/authorization patterns
- Experience with REST API design and implementation
- Tech Stack:
- Main Service: Kotlin-based Coral Lambda service handling core user management
- Cognito Lambdas: TypeScript Lambda triggers for user lifecycle events
- CDK Infrastructure: TypeScript-based infrastructure definitions
- Client Libraries: Java and TypeScript SDK generation
- API Models: Smithy-based service definitions
- Integration Tests: Kotlin-based comprehensive test suites
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Northridge, Los Angeles, CA (Fully Remote).
- Pay Rate Range: $60-90/hr.
- Must be U.S. citizens
