Job Description
Position Title: AVP, Finance & Accounting
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a AVP, Finance & Accounting with our client located in Renton, WA.
Job Responsibilities:
- You will be reporting to and partnering with the president, the AVP, Finance & Accounting will set financial policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization’s overall strategy.
- S/he will lead all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting.
- As a member of the senior leadership team, the AVP, Finance & Accounting will work closely with the President and Management Committee.
- S/he must have experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) and IT for a high-tech sector LLC with annual revenues of 50+ M$.
- Partner with the President on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the President based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team.
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with strategic plan.
- Engage the Chief of Engineering to align financial management with short- and long-term financial planning and projections.
- Engage the Management Committee around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model and operational delivery.
- Oversee the company’s risk identification and risk management processes
Financial and Operational Management:
- Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present operational metrics both internally and externally.
- Oversee all engineering project finance budgets, controls, metrics and reporting
- Ensure that the company’s internal controls and governance processes are sufficient to mitigate all significant risks
- Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitor the use of all funds.
- Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for Management Committee; prepare and communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting; direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting.
- Coordinate all audit and legal compliance activities.
- Evaluate and oversee all benefits negotiations, thus providing the most competitive packages for employees.
- Review all formal finance-related procedures, processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in place and managing the systems going forward.

- Develop and manage direct staff, to include managers in finance, guide larger multi-disciplinary teams outside of direct span of control.
- Engage other members of the senior management team to facilitate cross-department collaboration that ensures that all financial, and HR solutions positively support evolving strategy, operational delivery, and data collection needs.

Job Qualifications:
- BS and CPA/CMA; an MBA would be a plus (CPA required).
- The AVP, Finance & Accounting will be a seasoned and mature leader with at least 7-10 years of broad finance experience, ideally beginning in audit, followed by experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- A minimum of 7 yrs. of financial management experience (ideally for a high-tech sector LLC.)
- Must have some previous experience working with Tel-com, IT or Software Engineering leadership directly, if not for a high-tech company itself.
- Must have previous exp. with 50+ M$ size companies.
- Mature and proactive, with evidence of having worked as a true business partner to the chief executive of a high-tech sector LLC.
- Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
- Skill in examining, developing, reengineering, and recommending financial processes including engineering projects, HR, and technology policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning.
- A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.

Job Details:
- Direct Hire
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $190,000 plus a yearly Short term bonus plan w/ potential to earn 30-35% of base salary & and another Long-term bonus plan with the potential to earn up to 30 - 35% of base salary (both paid yearly) and RR Retirement Pension Plan.
