Position Title: Manufacturing Assembly Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for a Manufacturing Assembly Engineer with our client located in Everett, Washington.
Job Requirements:
- Review project design including but not limited to CAD model, P&IDs, interface points, experimental campaign, general arrangement drawings, and interface drawings.
- Schedule and participate in interface meetings with the project team and project engineer to gather feedback on assembly, mechanical and electrical interface constraints and necessary considerations.
- Develop a conceptual sequence of operations for assembly and installation, “Build and Flow”, of project.
- Conduct review meetings with key design engineers to collect and incorporate feedback, and to convey assembly, integration and installation constraints and realities which will affect the design or necessitate design changes.
- Support internal update to non-nuclear, in-house development hardware manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing guidelines.
- Propose preliminary module and assembly skid arrangement and interface points for major project systems.
- Elaborate on conceptual module/skid arrangement and Build & Flow sequence, to include specific interface joints/flanges/coupling needed, crane lift analysis, handling equipment, more detailed sequence, inspections and design updates.
- Incorporate existing component make/buy information and work with SPE (Supplier Procurement Engineer) to expand into a more detailed make/buy/integrate analysis for all major systems and assemblies.
- Conduct trade study to evaluate preliminary assembly options for modules and skids including in-house, at integrator or hybrid.
- Develop preliminary list of special tooling and equipment needed for assembly and installation.
- Develop preliminary component and module handling and shipping/transportation plan and related cost estimate.
- Evaluate and develop Labor estimates for in-house portion of mockup and final project pre-assembly, including any skill and certification requirements for workers, to include workmanship verification timing, efficacy and requirements.
- Identify any Hazardous operations, hazardous chemicals and waste stream associated with mock-up and pre-assembly.
Job Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, requirements, assembly sequencing.
- Ability to determine requirements for new processes or equipment, troubleshoot and implement process improvements and recommendations for high temperature systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing tolerances, materials properties, welding, and manufacturing and quality assurance requirements are required.
- Knowledge or previous experience of high temperature molten salts and nuclear chemistry is desired but not required.
- Ability to develop and plan manufacturing and assembly processes to achieve specified goals using existing infrastructure.
- Must be capable of working closely with a focused and high achieving group, working with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Excellence in written and oral communication.
