Position Title:  Design  Verification Engineer

Position Description:  Protingent Staffing has an exciting Direct Hire opportunity with our client in Redmond, Washington for an experienced  Design Verification Engineer.

Job Requirements:
  • Support design and development of laser projection products involving analog, digital and firmware domains.
  • Perform product emulation and prototyping using FPGA devices.
  • Develop script based utilities and hardware-in-the-loop verification architecture.
  • Automate laboratory equipment to capture, isolate and validate system behavior.
  • Create and maintain verification models to increase system test coverage of electronic designs.
  • Design and execute RTL test benches, including test monitors and self-checking metrics.
  • Review and propose improvements to design ideas and concepts for all phases of FPGA design; RTL coding, simulation, debug and system test.
  • Develop new test architectures and comprehensive test plans.
  • Experience with MEMS (scanning, accelerometers, etc) 
  • Experience with image processing or video path analysis 
  • Experience with Video standards and interfaces (HDMI, LVDS, Rec 709, NTSC/PAL, MIPI)
  • Video Pipeline Design 
  • Video Operations (frame-rate conversion, aspect ratio conversion, scaling, resampling, de
  • interlacing, warping, etc.) 
  • Experience with Video standards and interfaces (HDMI, LVDS, Rec 709, NTSC/PAL, MIPI)
  • Experience with Control System design 
  • Simulation of electronic circuits (SPICE) 

Job Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated understanding of FPGA/ASIC verification methodologies at various levels (functional, RTL, gate level, timing, etc).
  • Extensive understanding in FPGA and/or ASIC Design Flow
  • Logic Simulation/Tools: e.g. Modelsim
  • FPGA Tools: e.g. Altera Quartus, Xilinx ISE
  • Exposure to or experience with real-time embedded systems, including HW/SW interfacing, model-based design flow, and mixed-signal modeling.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated undertanding of interconnect/communication standards & protocols, such as I2C, USB, UART, and SPI.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sampled data systems and basic DSP concepts: Fourier Transforms, Digital Filters (FIR, IIR)
  • Solid communication and problem solving skills, ability to understand complex systems and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
