Position Title: Sr Employee Relations Specialist

Position Description:  Protingent Staffing has an exciting opportunity with our client in Pleasanton, CA

Responsibilities:

The Employee Relations Specialist role is to enable achievement of   organizational business objectives through solving complex employee relations matters across the organization and management capabilities and related systems.  The ERS will achieve this work through process and employment practice improvement, training, metrics/trending and analytics.  Partnering with and guiding business leaders through resolving complex ER matters.  Provide technical expertise and direction to HR partners and management around management practices, ER and Organizational effectiveness.  Directly handling a caseload of complex HR matters involving performance management, employment compliance, and other ER issues.  Specific job responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
  • Implement sound resolutions to complex employee relations issues
  • Conduct HR investigations and organizational assessments – develop and implement appropriate remediation
  • Own medical accommodations request and interactive process
  • Advise and influence management around complex ER decisions e.g. performance management, business conduct, terminations, and HR policies, guidelines and practices
  • Evaluate and review employee related decisions in response to employee concerns
  • Conduct training for HR, ER and management on management practices
  • Identify trends based on metrics and make recommendations

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA or JD preferred
  • 5+ years of exempt level HR experience
  • 3+ years directly managing complex employee relations issues
  • 3+ years advising leadership around HR practices
  • Capability to apply discretion and sound judgement in managing complex processes, decisions and handling sensitive information
  • Exceptional coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience managing complex employee relation issues, including HR workplace investigations
  • Strong influencing skills leveraging business acumen, expertise and data
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ADA, EEO, FMLA) and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issues
  • Knowledge of fundamental HR practices across ER, staffing, management practices, organizational effectiveness, compensation, and talent management
  • Comfortable working hands-on to get things done and quickly shifting to complex strategy discussions
  • Can accomplish results and desired outcomes through formal and informal corporate structures
