Job Description
Position Title: Software Design Engineer 5
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity for a Software Design Engineer 5 with our client located in Mountain View, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- The main function of a Software Engineer is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems.
- This role provides the opportunity to work on the software – supporting new products – high impact role.
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.
- Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs and data.
- Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.
- Implement system software and customize to client requirements.
- Prepare the detailed software specifications and test plans.
- Code new programs to client’s specifications and create test data for testing.
- Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
- Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
- Provide quality assurance reviews.
- Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.
- Purpose of the Team: This developer will be supporting software device production, developing powershell test sequences, and working with our software build and release pipelines. We will be creating stable code for diagnosing issues with device hardware and integrating data collection libraries to provide analysis and results to the development team. This role will include championing the software release pipelines within the team, making sure our build systems remain up and running, and working on automated code validation and release packaging.
- Key projects: This role will contribute to client’s software program developed for the US Army.
Job Qualification:
- 7-8 Years of C# Experience
- 7-8 Years of PowerShell Experience
- 7-8 Years of Azure Dev Ops Build Pipelines Experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
- 10+ years’ experience required.
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Large systems software design and development experience.
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.
- Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid 3 days a week onsite).
- Pay Range: $84/hr. to $115.50/hr.
- An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass a background check will not be considered for employment.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
